Only who understand can change something.
Especially the younger generation has to be incited to change it’s mind, to in future allow stray dogs and cats, as well as watchdogs, a better and species-appropriate life and reduce the flood of unwanted offspring. Part of this process is education on how to act towards animals, their needs and how to care for them and what we can do to fight high reproduction rates.
This is a point Anca puts a lot of emphasis on. During her work as a teacher, Anca again and again involves students in discussions to give them a better understanding about animals. Together with her students she works on projects, that aim to teach a better understanding and handling of stray dogs and cats.
Again and again Anca invites children and teenagers to accompany her on her feeding tours through Trusesti and the surrounding area, to help her with “photoshootings” or care for puppies and their mothers. This is how kids and teenagers learn the gentle handling of dogs and cats and develop a contemporary outlook.
But not only during her working hours Anca heeds her calling to improve the youth’s understanding of stray dogs and cats, but also after the school day ends.
Young residents near Anca’s residential area visit her regularly to play with her canine or feline fosterlings, or accompany her on her daily walks with her foster dogs. Of course, playing and cuddling is allowed – even encouraged! This is a great starting point to open the eyes of young people to the needs and emotional world of these animals. Because only who understands, can change something.
At the same time it’s a chance for her fosterlings to experience joyful moments and positive experiences with children.
