Mid-December 2023 - Anca was on her way home from Trusesti and stopped briefly at her last feeding stop, at the Deal Mare rest area. The ground was frozen hard and it had snowed a little. Apart from the pack of stray dogs, there were no "new" furry noses to be seen at first. But then Anca saw some movement in the undergrowth. She slowly walked closer and saw 2 small puppies with their mum.

The female was frightened and quickly disappeared into the small wood behind the rest area. What now? The puppies were still young. But not so young that they couldn't manage without their mum. It was too cold for the little ones out here. They were also thin and had short fur and no undercoat. So Anca decided to take the 2 puppies with her. Anca left food behind for their mum. She hoped that the female would become more trusting over the next few days and the family could be reunited. Unfortunately, Anca never saw her mum again.

Magui and her brother Ryker (Ryker has already found his humans) were still quite young when they came to Anca, but leaving the two puppies outside in the forest in sub-zero temperatures was not an option. They would have frozen to death without shelter. At Anca's, the two fur babies developed well and made friends with other puppies that Anca had taken in. They love to snuggle up together in their basket and don't mind if their puppy friends join them. Magui and Ryker have already got to know cats. They approached the cats with curiosity and interest and would have liked to cuddle them.

Magui is friendly to us 2-legged friends and also likes to be stroked. They sniff us with interest and Magui tries out how we 2-legged friends taste by licking us. If we are found to be "good", they snuggle up and want to be stroked. Magui is a gentle young dog. At the moment, the outside world is still a little scary for her and she is looking for protection from her humans. Her new humans should be able to give her a sense of security and show her patience, empathy, understanding of dogs and time. If Magui gets this, she will become more courageous and curious about her surroundings.

We are looking for people for this pretty puppy girl who are aware that puppies not only look cute, but can also be exhausting at times. Many things have to be learnt and practised first. House-training, walking on a lead, travelling in the car, not nibbling carpets, commands and much more are all things that are new and unfamiliar to the puppy girl. But with patience, empathy, time and lots of love, Magui will certainly be able to master many things. Attending a dog training school would be desirable.
